Steps to recover deleted files on Mac OS X:

 

Step 1: Remove the affected memory card from your system and connect it as a slave to the healthy system. Download and install the “Mac memory card recovery” software to the system to which, the affected memory card is connected. Run the program by double-clicking the shortcut icon on the desktop. The main screen is displayed as shown in Fig (1). From the main screen select the "Recover Photos" option.

Step 2: When you select "Recover Photos" from the previous screen shot then the next screen shots given you an option to choose either "Recover Deleted Photos" or "Recover Lost Photos" as displayed in Figure 2. Select "Recover Deleted Photos" option and proceed further.

Step 3:Once you click "Next" the software displays the detected logical drives. Select the memory card which is shown as a logical drive from which you need to recover deleted files as displayed in Figure 3.

Step 4: On clicking the "Next" button, a new window pops up, as shown Figure 4. The various types of photo files, audio files, and video files are displayed, as shown in the figure below. You can select specifically, the file types you wish to recover, or select all the file types, if you wish to recover all the media files, based on your requirement.The software starts scanning the selected memory card and displays the recovered data.

Step 5: The software starts scanning the selected memory card and displays the recovered data. You can use the "Data View" / "File Type View" option to view the recovered data as shown in Figure 5. The recovered data can be previewed using the "Preview" option. Use the "Save Recovery Sesson" option to save the scanned information. This option makes sure that you do not have to rescan the whole memory card once you purchase the full version. Once you activate the full version of the software, make use of the "Open Recovery Session" option to load the previously scanned information and save the recovered data.
